Final spurt for the “Springboard” competition

Munich, March 22, 2019 (w & p) – A stage for the players of tomorrow: This is the innovation competition “Sprungbrett”, organized by the Association Internet Reisevertrieb eV (VIR) again this summer to honor the most innovative tourism start-ups. Applicants can apply until April 15, 2019 at www.vir.de/sprungbrett . The condition for participation is that the participating start-up is not active in the market for more than one year at the time of application.

The decision of the competition takes place on the occasion of the “VIR Online Innovationstage”, the industry meeting of the digital tourism, on 25 June 2019 in Berlin. There, the five finalists pitch in front of some 300 industry experts for the title win. The winner will receive a prize package totaling more than 35,000 euros .

For the first time , the winner will also receive an exclusive fundraising workshop, sponsored by MAIRDUMONT VENTURES , which helps to structure the search for investors. “With the springboard competition, the VIR has been able to repeatedly prove its luck in recent years and has always selected promising start-ups. As a result, we are delighted to be able to engage directly with the winner in order to be able to jump-start growth, “emphasizes Daniel Gundel, Investment Director of MAIRDUMONT VENTURES.

Last year, the Cologne company Passolution won the title of best newcomer. Passolution specializes in integrating entry and vaccination regulations into tourist booking systems. “The winning package of the springboard competition was incredibly valuable to us as a young start-up,” summarizes Passolution CEO Dennis Zimon. “The feedback from the participants was a motivation boost and very helpful for our further development. During the Online Innovation Days I was also able to make important contacts with the decision-makers in the industry. “

Further information on the scope of the winner’s package for the winner as well as details on the competition can be found at www.vir.de/sprungbrett .

The VIR Online Innovation Days will take place on 25 and 26 June 2019 at the Marshall Haus der Messe Berlin, which is also a cooperation partner for the industry event. This year’s motto is “Sustainability in Tourism”. In addition to the final round of the “Springboard” competition, workshops and lectures on “Corporate Venturing” will be held on the first day to show how established companies cooperate with start-ups. The second day will feature specialist lectures, forums and discussions around the theme.
